Shared Ownership – The Benefits of Connecting with Customers Face to Face
Following a successful off-plan Shared Ownership information event held by our client Fabric Living, we share details of the day and our thoughts on the benefits of connecting with customers face to face.
The popularity of Shared Ownership has increased dramatically since it was first introduced in the late 1970’s yet we find it’s often the case that many of those who could benefit from the scheme know little if anything about how it works. While there are a range of websites that offer explanations of the scheme and FAQs, most prospective buyers really benefit from having the opportunity to meet a Shared Ownership Sales professional face to face and be given the time to ask a range of questions about how it can work for them – often bringing friends or family along to ask questions too.
This fact inspired Fabric Living (the sales division of First Choice Homes Oldham) to host a Shared Ownership Homebuyers Event recently, helping first time buyers understand how they could get on the property ladder while specifically promoting a number of Fabric Living housing developments in Oldham – with Hollins Gardner on hand to provide expert Shared Ownership advice.
The event which was held on Saturday 23rd March, attracted 100 attendees, with 45 customers registering their interest for the new developments in Royton, Sholver and Bardsley on the day and kickstarting the qualification process. This conversion rate of attendees to applicants demonstrates how valuable it is to be able to explain just what shared ownership is all about, face to face.
First time buyers can often be reluctant to pursue the shared ownership option as they think it will be complicated, fraught with paperwork and, once they’ve purchased a home, potentially hard to get out of.
